Miyabi takes its meaning from the Japanese for beautiful and elegant. We create jewellery for women who are passionate about elegance and design; women who transcend cultural boundaries; who have the courage to be unique. Miyabi draws inspiration from both eastern and western styles.
Our jewellery is hand crafted from pure natural stones and Karen silver. The result is an object of contemporary beauty that resonates with undertones of oriental design - a perfect expression of our concept.
Karen silver is only produced by the Karen tribe in Northern Thailand, where it is respected for its simplicity and beauty. The Karen have been crafting this silver for more than two thousand years. Karen silver is unique, in that it contains between 95 - 99% silver, when most silver jewellery only contains 92.5% silver. The Karen believe that powerful energy resides in all natural phenomenon. This is why they take motifs such as fish, insects, and flowers from nature as inspiration for their designs. Traditionally the Karen wear these pieces as amulets to ward off demons. We believe that our pieces retains aspects of this power.
