Loks has always been fascinated and intrigued by texture, the way a glaze can accentuate the ceramic surface: highlighting details and surface relief achieved with techniques such as intaglio, sprigging and piercing. Using the process of slip casting to make her pieces, she then finishes them by applying surface decoration by hand. Her pieces tend to have bursts of details that aim to capture the attention of individuals.
