I am a textile designer specialising in contemporary knitted textiles with a particular interest in materials.
At ELDS I will showcases my range of contemporary knitted lampshades made from paper, horsehair, wire and silver metallic yarn. The structural nature of these materials allow it to form a three dimensional shape, ideally suited to the creation of lampshades. The structure of the textile and texture of the materials is highlighted when lit. The lining allows light to come through, creating pattern and texture. The lampshades are handmade with bespoke frames and each one is unique.
